Today With God CMS guide
Full CMS walkthrough
Keep your CMS open beside this guide and move through the training with us. Each part shows the screen, tells you what to do, and links to the exact moment in the full video.
Work alongside the tutorial
Keep your CMS open. We will build through it with you.
This is not a test or a checklist. It is a companion you can keep beside the CMS while you work. We show one part at a time so the page never becomes overwhelming.
Open your Today With God CMS in another tab or window. Follow the short directions here, use the screenshot to confirm you are in the right place, and play the referenced video segment whenever you want to see it demonstrated.
Part 1 of 21
Set up your organization profile
We start with the basic information that identifies your church, ministry, or channel.
- Enter your organization title.
- Add a short description; copying a clear paragraph from your website or social media is fine.
- Add your website, optional location or P.O. box, and giving link if you use one.
Your main profile information should be accurate before you begin adding media.
Part 2 of 21
Add your logo
Now we add the logo people will see beside your organization name.
- Upload a PNG or JPEG.
- For the cleanest result, use a 1080 × 1080 square with the logo centered.
- Choose a simple background that gives your logo strong contrast.
Leave breathing room around the logo so it stays clear when it is displayed small.
Part 3 of 21
Build your image gallery and crops
The image gallery stores the pictures you can reuse throughout your Today With God page.
- Create an image title and upload the image.
- Adjust the desktop, tablet, and mobile crops.
- Leave extra room around faces, logos, and text so each crop has flexibility.
- Save the crop and then save the image.
If a crop looks wrong later, return to the image and edit the crops again.
Part 4 of 21
Choose your Cover Image
Cover images are selected from Image Gallery and become the featured visual area of your public page.
- Open Cover Image.
- Choose an image you already added to the gallery.
- Add more than one if you want the public feature area to rotate through several visuals.
Refresh the public page after saving so you can see the new feature image.
Part 5 of 21
Add videos to your gallery
Video entries combine a title, thumbnail, and YouTube link.
- Create a new video.
- Choose an existing image or upload a new thumbnail.
- Paste the YouTube link and save the video.
- Refresh the public page to confirm it appears in the video row.
Use thumbnails with a clear focal point and readable text at smaller sizes.
Part 6 of 21
Select a featured video
The featured video is separate from the regular gallery and gives one video more attention.
- Open the featured or church video area.
- Select one of the videos already in your gallery, or add a new one.
- Use this for a welcome video, current sermon, or important program.
Think of this as the video equivalent of a featured cover image.
Part 7 of 21
Understand your organization Circle
Circle shows the people connected to your organization and gives you access to their basic information.
- Open Circle to see connected users.
- Select a person when you need to review or manage their information.
- Use this area as the people layer behind groups and communication features.
The exact controls available may vary as the CMS continues to develop.
Part 8 of 21
Send notifications
Notifications let you send a message to an individual user or a group.
- Choose the user or group that should receive the message.
- Add the notification title and message.
- Send it, then use notification history to review what was previously sent.
Start with a small test notification if you want to confirm how it appears on a phone.
Part 9 of 21
Create an organization Group
Groups let selected users share a focused Bible study, plan, devotional, or other experience.
- Create a group and select the members.
- Choose the group type that best fits what you are doing.
- Add an image and the content the group will use.
Groups can be very simple; only add the fields that help the people inside that group.
Part 10 of 21
Create or select a Bible plan
You can use an existing Today With God plan or create a plan specifically for your audience.
- Choose an existing Today With God plan or select Add New Plan.
- Set the number of days; the CMS can create the day structure for you.
- Add verses and content for each day.
- Choose the plan artwork and review how it appears publicly.
Keep plan artwork readable both as a large detail image and as a much smaller card.
Part 11 of 21
Add your Leadership Team
Leadership Team is where you create the people/team profiles behind your organization.
- Open Leadership Team and choose Add Team.
- Enter the member name, description, designation/role, and the other fields you want to use.
- Upload a profile image and save.
Profile photos may need a little crop adjustment. Leave space around the face and shoulders.
Part 12 of 21
Share resources
Resources are useful for PDFs, downloadable material, and links people may need outside the app.
- Create a resource and give it a clear title.
- Add a short description.
- Upload a file or paste the URL where the resource lives.
Use resources for material that is genuinely helpful instead of filling the page with extra links.
Part 13 of 21
Use Carecells
Carecells is the current CMS label for this flexible collection area.
- Open Carecells and use it for the closest matching purpose.
- Add an image, location, date, time, and other information that matters.
- Leave the section empty if you do not need it; empty optional sections stay hidden.
Carecells is the current CMS label. Broader public-facing section-title customization is planned for an upcoming update.
Part 14 of 21
Add programs, events, and announcements
Programs can function as events, announcements, registrations, or featured opportunities.
- Choose whether the item is an event or program.
- Add the name, description, date, location, and artwork.
- Add useful action links such as Register, Volunteer, or another destination.
Only show action buttons that have a real destination and are useful to the visitor.
Part 15 of 21
Post bulletins
Bulletins are a simple place for current announcements and short updates.
- Create a bulletin.
- Add the current information you want your audience to notice.
- Update or remove old bulletins so the section stays useful.
Think of this as a lightweight announcement area, not another full program page.
Part 16 of 21
Add campuses, partners, or related ministries
The Campuses section can also represent partners, sister ministries, locations, or related organizations.
- Decide what this section represents for your organization.
- Add each location or partner as its own item.
- Use a public section name that makes sense to your audience.
A television channel or ministry does not have to call this Campuses.
Part 17 of 21
Build service or ministry pages
Services can become their own mini pages for worship times, departments, programs, or recurring ministry areas.
- Create a service or ministry area.
- Add its own information and image.
- Use the section for recurring parts of your organization that deserve more detail.
The label can be adapted for a church, ministry, or channel.
Part 18 of 21
Review prayer requests and praise reports
Prayer lets people share a request or praise report with the audience they choose.
- Open Prayer to review what people have submitted.
- Understand whether an item is a prayer request or praise report.
- Use the sharing choice to understand where the user intended the item to appear.
Prayer is community content, so review it thoughtfully before treating it like ordinary page content.
Part 19 of 21
Create curriculum
Curriculum lets you create your own lesson-based learning content in addition to Today With God material.
- Open Curriculum and add a lesson.
- Enter the lesson details and supporting content.
- Test the public experience after saving because this is a newer CMS feature.
If something does not behave as expected, use the issue form so the team can reproduce it.
Part 20 of 21
Build a sermon plan from a video
Sermon plans can connect a recent sermon or program with a guided follow-up plan.
- Choose an existing Today With God plan or create your own.
- Enter the plan name.
- Paste the YouTube link and choose a thumbnail.
- Review the generated plan and test it before sharing.
This is another newer feature, so report unexpected behavior rather than working around it silently.
Part 21 of 21
Add journals and finish with a public review
Journals can give your audience another way to follow personal reflections, and then it is time to review the page as a visitor.
- Create a journal and add its details.
- Save it and confirm it appears on your organization page.
- Refresh the public app or website.
- Look through the page on mobile and desktop and adjust anything that feels crowded or cropped.
The CMS will continue changing. If you find a real issue, send a screenshot or screen recording so our team can recreate it quickly.
