Surprise–the Court just protected our free speech! Surprise–is the President aggravated? Did he fire a warning shot over our Supreme Court and telegraph Congress to fix a perceived hole in our freedom of speech?
I hope we will not be forced to give up our freedom to disagree or our ability to use media to voice our opinions under the guise of limiting political lobbyists. That would be an unfortunate distraction at a time when our freedoms should be precious. Most Americans want to see effective campaign reform. But cleaner politics will not come by stifling the media. May God forbid that it come at the expense of our freedom of speech.
I am not yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theatre. But I am screaming there is “Fire in Hell.” Jesus is the way to avoid it. If political advertisements or their funding is restricted, will my voice or your voice be next?
My wife and I earnestly pray for our President, our Congress, and for America. I believe he was sincere in his comments and I was proud to see an African-American delivering our State of the Union address. I would ask my friends to pray for our leaders and to protect our freedom.
May God bless America and may America honor the Lord.
Shalom,

Thanks, Randy – well said! I pray for our President and leaders, too. I think fairly poorly of most of them, but that just means they need more prayer from us who know and love God. I am tired of “politics”, but not of prayer or of the hope of how things will be when Jesus comes back and reigns here, bringing real justice and mercy and order.
May this be another year our freedoms are protected, Lord.
