Please know that as we face the close of this year, I feel an emboldened confidence and a renewed vigor to enter 2010 in an overcoming faith with our friends, family, and partners. We love you all very much! We are only separated by geography. Space is much easier to overcome than philosophy.
Perhaps I am wrong, but it seems that the world is “resting” in quiet chaos–waiting for the next tragedy. International leaders seem bent on gathering more power. Those trusted to serve, seem only prepared to control. Impotent earthly rulers mute the confusion that rains on their vain schemes as they offer false hope to needy, hopeless masses. The problems of the world appear to be escalating disproportionately to any government’s ability to mitigate the suffering.
In this same world, we walk in a parallel universe of faith. With believers everywhere, we rejoice in the peace of God Who comforts, the goodness of God Who provides, the power of God Who protects, and the wisdom of God Who directs. It is a joy to serve together and to share in His goodness. This is the blessing of the Church!
God has granted us voices and methods to use our voices for His purposes.
What will we declare to those who hear?
I ask you to join me in seeking His still small voice so that we will use ours in the ways that most please Him. In this hour when so many around us live in fear and failure, I trust we can covenant to express God’s love as authentically, creatively, and powerfully as He will reveal it to us. May it be real, vibrant, and effective in our lives, in our families, and in our fellowships.
I think I am right in proposing that if we are to be guilty of anything, let us only be convicted of declaring that Jesus is Lord TO all who will listen and FOR all who won’t.

“Those trusted to serve, seem only prepared to control.” I so agree. It is so pertinent, for anarchy is in the air. I pray for the safety of all those around me. I join you “in seeking His still small voice so that we will use ours in the ways that most please Him.”
